A former guest of the İstanbul Jazz Festival in the past years, bass guitarist Marcus Miller meets with jazz lovers once again. A versatile musician on a wide range of instruments ranging from piano to bass clarinet, from saxophone to guitar, Miller is today a major source of inspiration for bassists with the "slap" technique he has popularised. A close musical partner of masters like Miles Davis and David Sanborn, Miller will be charming the audiences with the best of fusion. This night�s opening concert will be given by Tower of Power whose hit song "What is Hip?" was performed by Miller in his latest album "Marcus". A large horn-based ensemble, Tower of Power has produced a matchless blend of jazz, funk, rock and soul music for over forty years. Having collaborated with such artists as Elton John, Dionne Warwick and Smokey Robinson for their albums, Tower of Power has influenced a number of major musicians including Sting. The group shakes the ground with each concert they give across the world from USA to Japan.
